Armstrong heads home
Lance Armstrong with US flag
Armstrong has not raced in the US for more than a year
Lance Armstrong will be back on home soil to end his 2001 season at the San Francisco Grand Prix on 9 September.

It will be the Tour de France treble-winner's first race in the United States since April 2000.

"I'm really excited," Armstrong said from Spain, where he is preparing for the Tour of Burgos starting on 20 August.

"San Francisco is one of my favourite cities in the world and a perfect city to host an international cycling race.

"I know the course is going to be really tough - I'm looking forward to the climb on Fillmore Street."
