Armstrong attacks drugs rumours
Lance Armstrong says his team did nothing wrong
Lance Armstrong says his team did nothing wrong
Double Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong issued a firm rebuke to allegations that his US Postal team used illegal drugs during the famous race.

French officials have launched a judicial inquiry to investigate claims of drug abuse by the American team.

But Armstrong said on his official website that all the accusations are without foundation.

"We had permission to bring every product we ever used in the Tour de France," he said.

We're going to defend ourselves very aggressively - I'm sick of it
  Lance Armstrong
"We do it by the book. We get everything authorised by the French minister of health.

"It's stamped. It's approved. And that's all we bring."

Anti-doping measures

The US Postal team have always maintained a zero tolerance policy to any performance enhancing substances and vehemently deny the use of any drugs.

"I mean, come on guys. We have nothing to hide," added Armstrong.

"We're going to defend ourselves very aggressively. I'm sick of it."

"Cycling is a lot farther ahead and does a lot more than any other sport when it comes to doping.

"And cycling at the same time has been criticised and persecuted much more than any other sport."

Despite the negativity surrounding cycling, Armstrong admits he is still passionate about the sport.

"I'm just having so much fun," he said.

"I love where I'm at in my career."
