Taymazov claims gold
Uzbekistan's Artur Taymazov beat Alireza Rezaei by a fall to win gold in the 120kg freestyle wrestling.

Taymazov, who led by two points from an early move, produced a dominant display to win in just over four minutes.

Turkey's Aydin Polatci claimed the bronze medal after beating Marid Mutalimov, claiming the crucial third point in added time.

Meanwhile US favourite Cael Sanderson took gold in the 84kg division after beating Moon Eui-jae in the final.

Moon opened up with a point but was no match for the American who was able to score the three points needed for victory.

Russia's Sazhid Sazhidov won the bronze thanks to a 5-3 victory over Yoel Romero of Cuba.

In the 66kg division, Ukraine's Elbrus Tedeyev won gold after beating Jamill Kelly of the United States 5-1.

Makhach Murtazaliev of Russia secured bronze after needing the full three minutes of overtime to beat Kazakhstan's Leonid Spiridonov 2-1 in a tense bout.

Compatriot Mavlet Batirov claimed gold in the 55kg with a one-sided victory over America's Stephen Abas.

Batirov never looked back after taking an early lead and launched powerful attacks to claim a 9-1 triumph.

Chikara Tanabe broke Greek hearts in the bronze medal contest by beating Amiran Karntanov 7-0.

  • Britain's Nate Ackerman was eliminated at the pool stage in the 74kg category, losing both his bouts 11-0.
