The Goudi Complex is a major development situated just outside the city centre.
It will host both badminton and the five events of the modern pentathlon.
The complex is split into two venues: the Goudi Olympic Hall and the Modern Pentathlon Centre, which hosted the sport's World Cup finals last year.
The prefabricated Olympic Hall, which seats 4,000 spectators, will host badminton and the fencing and shooting disciplines of modern pentathlon.
Outside the Olympic Hall, work has centred on upgrading and enlarging the swimming pool, and renovating and restructuring the hippodrome, including support areas such as the warm-up area, stables and locker room.
A great deal of landscaping has taken place as well as improving the infrastructure for the complex, such as the internal road network and pedestrian walkways.
The facility is completed by two further indoor halls, the Olympic Park and the Military Wood.
