Double glory for diver Guo
Guo Jingjing
Guo Jingjing won her second gold medal of the Olympic Games when she claimed the three-metre springboard title.

The Chinese diver finished with a total of 633.15 points from her five semi-final and five final dives.

Compatriot Wu Minxia, who won the synchronised three-metre springboard with Guo, took silver with 612.00.

The bronze medal went to Russia's Yulia Pakhalina, who dropped from silver to bronze on the last dive, having led through the qualifying rounds.

"I was not nervous or stressed during the competition because I knew I could do well," said Guo.

"I am amazed about the gold medal. I have been training for this since I was five years old."

Earlier, British diver Jane Smith failed to reach the final after finishing in 15th place.

The Briton scored a total of 483.75 to finish just 20.76 points behind American Rachelle Kunkel, who claimed the 12th and last spot for the final.
