Ehning withdraws from Games
 Marcus Ehning
Ehning loss will affect Germany
German showjumper Marcus Ehning has pulled out of the Olympic Games because his horse is injured.

The loss of the current world number one rider will be a major blow to Germany's chances in the individual and team showjumping competitions.

Ehning's horse, For Pleasure, suffered a damaged ligament and the German took the decision not to go to Athens after consulting the team's veterinarian.

The Olympic equestrian event begins 22 August and finishes on 27 August.
