Can you feel the love between Park Sung-hyun and Lee Sung-jin?
|
There was a touching moment at the end of a thrilling women's archery final.
South Korea's Park Sung-hyun seemed content to shake hands with Lee Sung-jin after beating her compatriot to take gold in the 70m individual event.
But their coach, wanting a more obvious show of affection from his charges, quickly stepped in and insisted they hug each other.
Well, not so much insisted as physically pushed them together.
British journalists were seriously considering taking a dip in the canoe
slalom rapids as temperatures soared on Wednesday.
Members of Her Majesty's press were reduced to sheltering under umbrellas
which had been 'borrowed' from the host broadcaster.
But as the sweat glands went into overdrive, the Athens volunteer force
came to the rescue with ice-cold bottles of water.
They were even on hand to distribute sun-tan lotion, although they wisely
left the pale-skinned hacks to rub it in themselves.
Members of the media have generally been well looked after every where they go.
Now it emerges that there is a masseuse stationed in the Main Press Centre to soothe any aching limbs.
The thousands of photographers in Athens will no doubt welcome the news.
Given the amount of jostling that goes on as they look to get the best shot, there is bound to be a few bumps and bruises that need attention.
