Hungary play Russia for polo gold
Spain's dejected water polo team
The Spanish are dejected after their sudden death loss
Hungary and Russia survived stern semi-final examinations to book their places in the final of the men's water polo competition.

Russia progressed to Sunday's gold medal match after outlasting Spain in a tense double-overtime thriller.

The well-fancied Hungarians were also given a scare in their semi when Yugoslavia took them right to the wire.

Having both been on the wrong end of 8-7 scorelines, Spain and Yugoslavia will be eager to claim the consolation prize bronze medal in Sunday's third-place play-off.

Men's water polo:

Semi-finals:
Russia 8-7 Spain (2OT)
Hungary 8-7 Yugoslavia

Classification matches:
Kazakhstan 11-8 Slovakia
Greece 6-6 Netherlands
United States 9-8 Croatia (OT)
Italy 8-4 Australia
