Ian Wynne fails in his bid to reach the final
Ian Wynne missed out on the chance of a final berth after finishing fourth in the semi-final of the K1 500m sprint.

Wynne's time of one minute 41.486 seconds was not fast enough to qualify for the final.

In the women's event, Anna Hemmings clocked 1:59.66s but finished last in her semi-final, putting an end to her Olympics.

There was disappointment also for Paul Darby-Dowman and Ross Sabberton who trailed in seventh in the semi-final of the K2 500m..

Their time of 1:33.173 was not good enough to go through to the final.

In the two-man canoe, brothers Andrew and Stephen Train were last of nine entrants (1:49.931) in their semi and miss out on the C2 500m final.
