Mixed fortunes for British divers
![]() Karen Smith has suffered diving disappointment
Jane Smith of Great Britain reached the women's diving semi-final after she scored 269.22 points in the three-metre springboard
preliminary round.
That total put her in 14th place and within one round of the final. However Karen Smith, who teamed up with her namesake Jane in the synchronised three-metre springboard event at the European Championships in Helsinki earlier this summer, was not among the 18 to go through to the semis. She racked up 224.58 points, only giving her a placing of 31st out of 43 entrants.
