Haas sends another seed crashing
![]() Tommy Haas progresses to the last eight
Spain's Alex Corretja became the latest seed to crash out of the men's singles on Sunday as he was beaten in straight sets by Germany's Tommy Haas.
After taking the first set on a tie-break, Haas advanced 7-6 (9-7) 6-3 and will now meet Max Mirnyi in the quarter-finals. Belarussian, Mirnyi, who earlier knocked out Australian Lleyton Hewitt, was in powerful form as he beat Argentina's Marian Zabaleta, 7-6 (7-4) 6-2. Corretja's exit leaves Gustavo Kuerten, Yevgeny Kafelnikov and Juan Carlos Ferrero as the only three seeds that have made it to the last eight of the tournament.
