China wins first men's team title

China claimed its first ever
Olympic gymnastics men's team title on Monday after finishing
second in the last two Games behind Russia.
World champions China, competing without their top gymnast Lu Yufu who was ruled out of the Games after injuring his neck in training, led right from the opening tumble through all six rotations and finished with 231.919. The Ukraine, bronze medallists in Atlanta, improved one placing taking the silver with 230.306. Russia settled for bronze on 230.019.
