The SOL team
![]()
Meet the presenters of SOL@Sydney2000, BBC Sport Online's exclusive made-for-the-web broadcasts during the Olympics.
Lisa O'Sullivan Lisa is a keen armchair athlete, who started her radio career in Essex writing travel news.
From the murky waters of commercial broadcasting she ran aground at the BBC. Proud of being the girl with a radio face and dress sense to match, Lisa is confident that one day a British team (in anything) will uncover a hidden talent. Jon Myers Jon started his career as a pirate radio disc-jockey, and prior to joining the BBC, worked as a roving freelance sports reporter.
Jon chose to work in radio as he's never managed to hold down a steady hairstyle and fears the advent of internet broadcasting. His biggest fear? That fancy gadgets like web-cams could soon force him to look in a new direction. David Croft David Croft says that the first football match he ever commentated on was at the Toulon Tournament of 1995 between South Korea and France. Arsenal's Robert Pires was on the scoresheet that day.
A luvvie in his early days - he once worked as a theatre publicist - David has worked for BBC Three Counties Radio as well as Five Live. When not at Television Centre, he might be on the cricket pitch or the golf course, but you might just as easily find him playing the sport for which his build most ideally suits - darts. Steve Bunce Steve Bunce was the best surfer in south east London. In 1980 he travelled to Diamond Head, Hawaii, and never surfed again. He turned to sports journalism. As a correspondent for the Daily Telegraph he covered the Atlanta and Nagano Games, where he was caught in a snowstorm at the top of a mountain and rescued live on Japanese television. "I will do anything for a story," he told the Japanese. In 1998 he left the Daily Telegraph and joined The Sporting Life. It folded before a copy was printed. Steve now writes for a number of British newspapers and has had more pen names than the Parker range. He has also written a book about boxing which sold 100,000 copies. This year he has produced two films for BBC Choice - one about Mike Tyson and the other about women boxing in Texas. Both films were shown on BBC Two. In October he will travel to Mexico City where he will enroll in Matador school for another film. "I want to make the one about the bull winning," he said. His voice has appeared on Radio 5, the World Service and Radio 4's Late Tackle.
