Video - Brazil beat US to volleyball gold
Brazil have won their first Olympic gold medal in women's volleyball with a 3-1 victory over the United States.
The South American team recorded a 25-18 18-25 25-13 25-21 win to remain undefeated at the Beijing Games.
Earlier, China secured bronze in the by beating Cuba 3-1 in front of a raucous and partisan crowd.
The 2004 Olympic champions made sure of third with a 25-16 21-25 25-13 25-20 win over a Cuban side that had not lost a set until their semi-final defeat.
The Chinese were much the better side as Cuba could only find their best form late on in the match.
Brazil's Sheilla Castro said: "We struggled a lot. We played hard and we never gave up.
"Only in the second set we played badly. It hasn't hit me that we've won."
