Video - Russians win synchro in style

Russia claimed gold in the synchronised swimming team event to secure a glorious Olympic double in Beijing.

Three days after Anastasia Ermakova and Anastasia Davydova won the duet title, Russia's eight women saw off Spain and China with a total of 99.500 points.

Spain finished with a combined total of 98.251 points and China with 97.334.

It it the third consecutive Olympics that Russia have swept to win both gold medals in synchronised swimming.

The final was overshadowed by one of the Japanese swimmers collapsing after her free routine, but it is reported her condition is "nothing serious".

Japan finished fourth - the first time they failed to win a medal since the team event began in 1996.
