Belfast swimmer Melanie Nocher has been selected to compete for Ireland at the Olympic Games in Beijing.
Nocher and Aisling Cooney failed to achieve the 'A' standard time to qualify for Beijing.
However, both youngsters gained the 'B' time and were recommended by Swim Ireland to compete in the Olympics.
Nocher regained the Irish women's 200m backstroke record in a time of 2:13.84 when she took victory in the Dutch National Championships last month.
