Steve Williams (bottom right) is the only defending Olympic champion in Great Britain's highest-profile boat, having won gold alongside Sir Matthew Pinsent in Athens.
Andy Hodge and Peter Reed have been alongside Williams since 2005, winning world gold that season and in 2006 before struggling for consistency in 2007.
Hodge's housemate, bowman Tom James (top right pic, far right) joined the crew this season but has yet to race in the line-up because of a back injury.
Australia and the Netherlands are serious rivals for Beijing gold, while world champions New Zealand also have medal ambitions.
The four start their campaign with a heat on 9 August at around 1030 BST, aiming to qualify direct for Wednesday's semi-finals, then the final at 1030 BST the following Saturday.
