Olympic Dreams - Paul Drinkhall

Age 18, Table tennis

He is GB's number one, Europe's top junior and wants to repeat the efforts of his hero Roger Federer and dominate his sport.

Inspired by his grandfather's exploits in a local league, Drinkhall was in the England squad aged nine, going on to win medals at national, European and world level.

In 2006 Middlesbrough's finest even grabbed three match points against reigning Olympic champ Ryu Seung Min of South Korea.

Olympic qualification just eluded him this time, but with extensive training continuing in China and Sheffield, he could well be at the top of his game in London.
