South Korea's Choi Minho won the Olympic gold medal in the men's -60kg category with a stunning victory over Ludwig Paischer of Austria.

Minho clinched the title in style when he scored the maximum ippon for a brilliant leg grab after only two minutes and 14 seconds of the fight.

Uzbekistan's Rishod Sobirov and Ruben Houkes of the Netherlands won bronze.

Britain's Craig Fallon lost to Israel's Gal Yekutiel in the repechage B final - one fight from a chance of a bronze.

The Wolverhampton-born 25-year-old, who had been considered Great Britain's best hope for a judo medal, was leading by a minor score until his opponent came up with ippon.

Fallon entered the repechage after losing his second-round fight with Paischer.

606: DEBATE

He was beating Yekutiel with just over two minutes of his repechage final contest remaining but the Israeli produced two Waza-ari throws in the space of a minute to seal victory.

It was the first time Fallon had lost to the Israeli in their fourth meeting, and it left him in seventh place.

"I'm just so disappointed. I put in all I had, but seventh wasn't what I came here for," said Fallon.

"I got well ahead in the fight, but I felt my legs tire, which was a reflection of how I felt all day.

"To get countered from such a comfortable position was obviously disappointing.

"It was nothing to do with my training. My preparations went really well and I comfortably made the weight."

Minho, the 2003 world champion and a bronze medallist in Athens, was in breathtaking form throughout the day and his superb te-guruma, which beat Paischer, crowned his performance.

Reigning world champion Houkes beat Yekutiel for bronze while Sobirov picked up the second bronze with victory over France's Dimitri Dragin.
