Alex Danson netted a brace as Great Britain's women romped to a 3-0 win against South Africa in their second game of the Setanta Trophy in Dublin.
Mel Clewlow scored the other goal as Britain bounced back from a 2-1 defeat against Olympic champions Germany.
But their male counterparts threw away a 3-0 lead as they drew 3-3 with Pakistan in their second match.
Richard Mantell, Richard Alexander and Ashley Jackson scored in the first 23 minutes but Pakistan fought back.
Goalkeeping coach John Hurst said: "When our legs were relatively fresh in first half we dominated the game, but coming off the back of 10 days solid training including 10-12 sessions in Spain, we were a little tired.
"We struggled to maintain the momentum we gained in the first half."
Britain will play in their final group match against Ireland at 1900 BST on Saturday before the classification matches take place on Sunday.
