China's British-based players
Manchester United's Dong Fangzhuo and Charlton's Zheng Zhi

The pressure is on hosts China to perform, and they have turned to two of their best-known players.

Striker Dong Fangzhuo may be a peripheral presence with Manchester United, with only three first-team appearances since joining in 2004, but his loan spell with Royal Antwerp in Belgium showed he can really shine.

Charlton midfielder Zheng Zhi, highly rated in the Championship, captains China's senior team and the skilful 27-year-old will lead his side in Beijing as well.

Zheng is a seriously hard worker in the centre of midfield, and can offer genuine craft with his vision and passing ability.
