Tom Daley and Blake Aldridge claimed a first-ever gold for Britain at the Fina Diving World Series to stake their claim for a place at the Olympics.
The duo won the 10m platform synchronised title, scoring a perfect 10 for their second dive in Sheffield.
Daley, 14, has been selected for the individual diving event in Beijing but the pair are vying with Pete Waterfield and Leon Taylor for the synchro spot.
"That was a really good performance, the best we've ever done," said Daley.
"It was a close final with some superb diving and plenty of drama. I'm pleased with the way we held it together."
Aldridge added: "When you're up there on the board you have to stay composed and focused on the job at hand.
"That was hard to do today because of the great support we got from the home crowd. I'm delighted with the way we dived and, of course, winning the gold."
