The pairing defied the odds to finish fourth at the Fina World Cup at 2008 Olympic venue the Water Cube.
National performance director Steve Foley said: "They are a relatively new team and what they've done is amazing."
Britain will also be represented in the women's 10m platform event after Stacie Powell and Brooke Graddon secured a semi-final spot at the same event.

The synchronised partnership of Robinson-Baker and Swain is barely a year old, but they are not guaranteed a place in Great Britain's team for the Olympics.

Powell and Graddon delivered Britain's first qualifications of the World Cup with top 18 finishes.
