Brits Anthony Clarke and Donna Kellogg reached the European Championships mixed doubles final but top seeds Nathan Robertson and Gail Emms are out.
Clarke and Kellogg beat Daniush duo Carsten Mogensen and Helle Nielsen 21-18 21-19 in Herning.
But Robertson and Emms went down in three games to Robert Mateusiak and Nadiezda Kostiuczyk of Poland.
Emms took some consolation later on Saturday when she joined Kellogg to reach the women's doubles final.
They defeated Sweden's seventh seeds Elin Bergblom and Johanna Persoson 21-18 21-7 despite having trailed 11-8 in the opening game.
But Robertson was at a loss earlier, after he and Emms suffered their first ever defeat to the Polish pairing, 14-21 21-10 21-6.
"We played well in the first game but then we had a bad run in the second," he said.
"After that the momentum went their way and we didn't have any fight left.
"Maybe the week and a half I had to take off from training because of an ankle niggle was to blame."
