Amy Foster missed out on a personal best time in Santry
|
Amy Foster and Zoe Brown were among the winners on the second day of the Irish Championships at Santry on Sunday.
North Down sprinter Foster claimed the 100m title in 11.54 but the wind reading meant that it didn't register as a personal best for the youngster.
North Down shot putter Eva Massey won that event.
Brown won the pole vault with a leap of 3.85m which left her ahead of her Ballymena & Antrim club-mate Claire Wilkinson (3.25m).
Anna Boyle's disappointing summer continued as she placed sixth in 11.81.
Kelly McNeice (4:19.56) took second in the 1500m behind Beijing-bound Roisin McGettigan (4:17.91) while Abbey AC athlete Elaine McCaffrey (55.48) was second in the women's 400m behind Cork runner Marian Andrews (53.97).
Newcastle athlete Kerry Harty (16:59.91) was second in the women's 5000m won by Letterkenny-based Dubliner Maria McCambridge (16:30.54).
With David Gillick and Paul McKee absent, Gordon Kennedy won the men's 400m in 46.91 ahead of Brian Doyle (47.07) and junior Brian Gregan (47.43).
Alistair Cragg was also an absentee from the Championships but another Olympic team member Derval O'Rourke won the women's high hurdles in 13.04.
Robert Heffernan bettered his own Irish record in winning the 10K walk while Thomas Chamney won the 800m title in 1:50.73 which left him just ahead of David Campbell (1:51.07).
