Ukraine's Victor Ruban took advantage of a mistake by South Korea's Park Kyung-Mo to clinch the gold medal in the men's individual archery.

Park scored just an eight on his 11th arrow to leave the scores tied on 103-all with one shot left each.

Ruban scored a perfect 10 with his last arrow, while Park could only manage a nine - giving Ruban a 113-112 victory.

Russia's Bair Badenov took the bronze medal with a 115-110 win over top-seeded Juan Rene Serrano of Mexico.

Ruban, ranked fifth in the world, was in the Ukraine team that was surprisingly beaten by China in the bronze medal match of the men's team event on Monday.

He had to survive a sudden-death shoot-off with Badenov to reach the final before beating the South Korean world number three, who had taken gold in the team event.
