Matthew Pinsent on his World Olympic Dreams highlights

Two years ago, World Olympic Dreams set about telling the stories of 26 athletes as they head towards the Olympics in London. The lives of these athletes are a mix of the extraordinary and the ordinary.

Usain Bolt breaks world records but he is still humbled by his PE teacher. A Trinidadian hurdler is set to take on the planet's best at the World Championships, but has to pass his maths exam first. A Ukrainian fencer may appear on the front of glossy magazines, but at home she loafs around in her slippers like the rest of us.

With just weeks until they are due to compete, the athletes we are following find themselves in varying stages of their journey to the Games. Some are exceeding expectations, some have had major setbacks they need to overcome. One has dropped out completely due to a drugs scandal.
