Kronwerk Gymnasium

Kronwerk is situated in the town of Rendsburg in north Germany.

Hinrich graduated from Kronwerk almost 30 years ago after completing his A-levels, yet there are still teachers at Kronwerk with fond memories of his time there.

Roland Papa, a biology and geography teacher at Kronwerk, remembers Hinrich for his "good character." He says even though Hinrich was more interested with sports, he was still a "good pupil in biology."

As well as Hinrich, the school are proud of their county champion teams in handball and gymnastics and have big hopes for a student in the 2012 Paralympics.

See what happened when we visited Kronwerk Gymnasium to find out more about the school.

Bryanston School, Great Britain

Hinrich took a year out of his schooling in Germany to study at Bryanston School in Dorset, England.

Hinrich was only there in the spring and summer of 1978, but felt very much part of the Bryanston community. He remembers Bryanston's role in teaching him how to be disciplined in his work.

Even though academic achievement is important, Sarah Thomas, Head of Bryanston, hopes "all achievement is recognised and applauded" and that each "Bryanstonian can inspire pride."
