Antrim hurlers win Ulster Under-21 Championship

Captain Cormac Donnelly led Antrim to victory over Armagh

Favourites Antrim beat Armagh 0-21 to 0-16 in Wednesday's Ulster Under-21 hurling final at Casement Park.

Armagh shaded the early stages but Darren Hamill's fifth point put Antrim into the lead for the first time, nine points to eight at the interval.

It could have been different if Conor Coulter's shot had not crashed off the bar as a goal then would have given Armagh a handy 1-6 to 0-5 advantage.

Hamill ended with 10 points while Armagh's Kieran McKernan landed seven.

It is the 26th time Antrim have lifted the trophy, while Armagh have yet to win it after three losing appearances in the final.
