Derry's long-serving defender Sean Martin Lockhart is reported to be quitting inter-county football.

The 33-year-old Banagher clubman made 50 competitive appearances for Derry, a county record, and won an All Star award in 1998.

Lockhart also holds the record for the number of appearances made in the International Rules series, playing 16 times against Australia.

He is currently manager of the St Patrick's, Maghera, MacRory Cup team.

The Irish News reported that Lockhart had decided to call it a day as far as inter-county football was concerned.

However, another Derry stalwart, Enda Muldoon has declared he is staying on for the 2010 campaign, as is his Ballinderry team-mate Niall McCusker.
