O'Shea steps down as Kerry boss

Pat O'Shea
Pat O'Shea guided Kerry to an All-Ireland title success

Pat O'Shea has quit as Kerry football manager less than a month after the All-Ireland final defeat by Tyrone.

In a statement the county board said that O'Shea had quit because of "work commitments and family reasons".

O'Shea succeeded Jack O'Connor in the Kingdom hotseat in 2006 and his team went on to claim the All-Ireland title the following year.

However, Kerry's hopes of a third straight Sam Maguire success were thwarted by Tyrone at Croke Park.
