Kerry v Cork (Sun)

Tommy Griffin
Griffin is said to have impressed in a full-back role in training
ALL-IRELAND QUARTER-FINAL
Venue: Croke Park. Date: Sunday, 24 August. Throw-in: 1530 BST.

Kerry have made a late change to their starting line-up for Sunday's All-Ireland Football semi-final against Cork at Croke Park (1530 BST).

Tommy Griffin has been drafted into the full-back line with Padraig Reidy dropping out of the starting line-up for the all-Munster battle.

Griffin, normally a midfielder, is said to have impressed in training.

Cork also have late changes with Graham Canty and John Miskella replacing James Masters and Brian O'Regan.

The line-ups announced in midweek were unchanged from the quarter-final wins.

Kerry will go into the game as favourites despite their second-half collapse against the Rebels in the Munster final.

The Kingdom regrouped to beat Monaghan in the qualifiers and then produced a terrific display to beat Galway in a classic quarter-final at headquarters.

However, Cork will feel that they are a better team than both Monaghan and Galway and they are unlikely to have any inferiority complex against Pat O'Shea's side.

Granted, Cork will need to raise their game massively from their struggling win over Kildare but they are capable of doing just that.

They will also surely be motivated to do themselves justice at headquarters after their poor display against the Kingdom in last year's All-Ireland decider.

However, it's hard to back against any Kingdom side which reaches this stage of the All-Ireland Championship.

Kerry are aiming for a three-in-a-row this year but they should still have plenty of motivation to respond to the many pundits who still don't mark this team as one of the Kingdom's finest.

Kerry get the vote.
