Down had an amazing 18-point win in Tullamore to progress to the second round of the All-Ireland qualifiers.

Ross Carr's men were 3-12 to four points ahead at half-time with goals coming from Daniel Hughes, John Clarke and Kevin McKernan.

Benny Coulter netted Down's fourth goal but Offaly managed a mini-revival with two goals from Pascal Kellaghan.

Ronan Sexton robbed home keeper Padraic Kelly to score Down's fifth goal in the last minute.
