Thomas Freeman celebrates after scoring Ulster's goal
|
Ulster came from behind to beat Munster by four points at Croke Park and claim the Railway Cup for the 28th time.
A goal from full-forward Kieran Donaghy helped Munster surge ahead early on.
But Ulster hit back and, after Thomas Freeman found the net in the 25th minute, they were just 1-5 to 1-4 down at the interval.
Ulster manager Brian McEniff brought Steven McDonnell on as a substitute and that proved crucial as the former All Star from Armagh landed three points.
Paul Finlay was also impressive in landing three points for the victors.
