Murtagh expects result to stand
Crossmaglen Rangers manager Donal Murtagh
Donal Murtagh saw Crossmaglen clinch a fourth All-Ireland crown
Crossmaglen say they do not expect a protest over the All-Ireland club final even though John McEntee stayed on after receiving two yellow cards.

Referee Eugene Murtagh gave McEntee a yellow card in the first half but, when he later showed him a second, he did not dismiss the half-forward.

The teams were level at that stage but Cross went on to win 0-13 to 1-5.

"If it was us, we would not appeal. You like to see fair play and the best team won," said Cross manager Donal Murtagh.

"If you started to replay every time there was a refereeing error you would never get a football match finished.

"Kerry are a footballing county, they always were, and you like to see the best team win."

McEntee confirmed he had been booked in the first half but said on the second occasion the referee had intended to merely give him a tick, not a second yellow.

Manager Murtagh heaped praise on his black and amber stars after the club's fourth All-Ireland triumph.

"The team showed great charatcer and quality. Is this not the greatest club of all time?"
