Donegal showed impressive spirit to claim a deserved 1-13 to 1-10 win over Mayo in Sunday's Allianz NFL Division 1A clash at Ballybofey.
Three Brendan Devenney points helped Donegal lead 0-6 to 0-3 but Mayo fought back to take a 0-7 to 0-6 advantage.
Ryan Bradley's goal helped Donegal lead 1-8 to 0-9 but a Neil Gallagher own goal enabled Mayo to draw level.
However, two Kevin McMenamin points and a free from sub Colm McFadden helped Donegal edge the verdict.
Bradley's goal came after Mayo goalkeeper Davie Clarke had failed to hold a long ball from McMenamin.
Ciaran Bonner was also among the Donegal scorers while Conor Mortimer, Alan Moran, Austin O'Malley (2) and Alan Dillon got on the scoresheet for Mayo.
