Kerry ended Fermanagh's 100 per cent record in Division 1A at Killarney.
Fermanagh hit the opening two points but Kerry fought back to lead 0-6 to 0-5 at the interval with the Erne men's Mark Little having a penalty saved.
Eoin Brosnan scored Kerry's goal early in the second half but Fermanagh never gave up and they were only two points down with 10 minutes left.
However, Colm Cooper and sub Sean O'Sullivan knocked over some fine late points to help Kerry pull clear.
Jonathan McGurn had a fine game at full-forward for Fermanagh and his four points helped him earn the man-of-the-match award.
Tom Brewster and McGurn notched the opening scores of the game but Kerry got a stranglehold on possession in the middle third of the field to take control.
Fermanagh had full-back Barry Owens to thank in the 15th minute when he made a brilliant goal-line clearance to block a Paddy Kelly shot.
Points from Cooper (two), Mike Frank Russell and Eoin Brosnan edged Kerry 0-4 to 0-2 ahead.

Kerry were still two-points ahead (0-5 to 0-3) when Fermanagh earned their penalty.
However, Little's weak penalty effort was comfortably saved by Kerry goalkeeper Kieran Crimmin.
Kerry hit two of the opening three scores after the interval to bring the sides level.
However, the crucial goal then came with Kieran Donaghy's superb midfield fetch starting a move which was finished by Brosnan's great shot from 12 yards.
To their credit, Fermanagh kept battling and they got to within two points of Kerry on three occasions.
However, Kerry, with Cooper bringing up his afternoon tally to five points, pulled clear in the closing stages and impact sub O'Sullivan also helping to subdue the brave Erne challenge.
The win moves Kerry level on four points with Fermanagh although the Kingdom have a better scoring-average.
Mayo lead the Division with a maximum six points.
