Derry All Star Enda Muldoon is certain to miss the opening stages of the Allianz National League because he is undergoing a knee operation next week.

Muldoon has been troubled by the knee problem for some time.

Because of the operation, he is unlikely to be able to play football for at least 10 weeks.

He seems certain to miss the NFL games against Meath, Louth and Cavan but he will, nevertheless, travel with the All Stars to Hong Kong next month.

Meanwhile, Armagh and Crossmaglen star Oisin McConville travels to London on Friday to get a consultation about his continuing back problem.

McConville had a back operation in London last year but the problem is still causing him discomfort and he may require further surgery.
