Dungannon in Hogan defeat
St Patrick's Dungannon failed in their bid to emulate the team of 1997 when the went down to their Navan namesakes in the Hogan Cup at Parnell Park.

The MacRory Cup holders were slow out of the traps and trailed 1-06 to 0-01 at half-time and were looking at a heavy beating.

However, they brilliantly stormed back in the second half to level the game with five minutes remaining.

But a late surge saw the Leinster side triumph by the narrowest of margins.

The Tyrone side just could not buy a point in the opening half as the fired eight wides and looked doom when Shane O'Rourke's great run and goal put the Navan side in control.

But in a great exhibition of skill and determination on the resumption made it into an exciting second period.

The Dungannon side finally levelled with time running out when Raymond Mulgrew's right foot got the first touch to a loose ball in the box to find the net.

However, the Navan side reasserted themselves to ease home by the skin of their teeth.

In the Croke Cup hurling final, St Kieran's of Kilkenny defeated St Raphael's, Loughrea 3-20 to 1-06.
