Bangor sack manager Fraser
![]() Bangor manager Alan Fraser has been sacked
Bangor manager Alan Fraser has been sacked.
The Bangor board took the decision in the wake of the club's 2-0 defeat by Ards in the north Down derby on Saturday. Bangor are now seven points behind their neighbours who lead the Smirnoff Irish League First Division. Fraser told the BBC that he was "shocked and gutted'' by his sacking. Bangor board "The club is only seven points behind the leaders which means all is far from lost as far as the season is concerned," said Fraser. The Bangor board met to discuss Fraser's future on Sunday and then informed him of their decision on Monday afternoon. Club chairman Jim McGrory hinted that Fraser's days at the club could be numbered in an interview on October 20. Fraser previously managed Glenavon and Ballymena. He was sacked by Glenavon little more than a year after seeing the club narrowly miss out on the 1993/94 Irish League title. His spell at Ballymena lasted two seasons before he was also shown the door even though the club comfortably avoided relegation during his tenure. |
