Glentoran's ground vandalised
Glentoran play thier home games at the Oval in east Belfast
Vandals have struck at Glentoran's east Belfast ground

Vandals have damaged the dug-outs at Glentoran's ground in east Belfast.

Glass panels in the dug-outs at the Oval was smashed on Tuesday night or in the early hours of Wednsday morning.

Glentoran had been playing away to Lisburn Distillery on Tuesday night, a match they won 3-1 to go nine points clear at the top of the Daily Mirror Premier Division.

"We put in new dug-outs at the start of the season - they are very modern and the best in the Irish League," said club official John Harvey.

"It makes you despair sometimes.

"Our aim now is to have them repaired in time for Saturday's game."

It is estimated the repair bill will be over 1,000.
