Crockard ninth in Sweden
Newtownards rider Gordon Crockard was runner-up in last year's World Championship
Crockard would have been hoping for better

Gordon Crockard finished ninth in Sunday's 250cc Swedish Grand Prix at the Uddevalla circuit.

The race was won by series leader Mickael Pichon from France, with New Zealand's Joshua Coppins second and Frederic Bolley of France in third place.

Newtownards rider Crockard was well off the pace on his KTM machine, finishing over a minute behind the winner.

Crockard, who was seventh in the last round of the World 250cc Motocross Championship in Bulgaria last month, crossed the finish line in Sweden in a time of 41 minutes 25.607.
