Veteran Boyle stars for Dungloe

St Eunan's Letterkenny and Dungloe were among the winners in Sunday's Donegal Football Championship matches.

Brendan Devenney hit four points for Eunan's in the comfortable 2-17 to 0-7 first round first leg win over Ardara.

Brian McGeenan scored both the Eunan's goals.

Also in first round first leg games, Ballyshannon defeated Termon 2-12 to 0-8 while Glenties hammered Glencolmcille 2-14 to 0-5.

Michael Lawless and Val Murray hit the Ballyshannon goals while Brian Roper had a fine game for the winners.

Jim McGuinness and John Gildea starred in Glenties' facile win over Glencolmcille.

Tony Boyle had a fine game in Dungloe's 1-17 to 1-2 preliminary round first leg win win over St Naul's.

Brothers Adrian and Raymond Sweeney also impressed for Dungloe.

Meanwhile, Keady defeated Grange 1-17 to 2-5 in an Armagh Football Championship first round tie.

John Toal excelled for Keady whose goalscorer was Gerard Enright.

Armagh Harps also progressed to the quarter-finals thanks to a 1-14 to 0-4 replay win over Cullaville.

Ebby Toal scored Harps' goal midway through the second half.

Former Armagh county player John Toner scored seven points for Harps.

The Dromintee v St Patrick's and St Michael's v Silverbridge games were both postponed because of waterlogged pitches.

Inniskeen victory

In the big game of the weekend on Friday evening, goals from Kieran Hughes and Conor Clarke helped Pearse Ogs defeated Clan na Gael 2-12 to 1-10.

Hughes' fourth minute goal helped Ogs to an early 1-4 to 0-2 lead and although a Diarmuid Marsden goal got the Lurgan side back in the match, the Armagh city side always looked to have something in hand.

Clarke's clinching goal came in second half injury-time.

Barry O'Hagan hit seven points for the losers.

Meanwhile, a Peter McKenna penalty helped Inniskeen defeat Ballybay 1-10 to 1-7 in the Monaghan Football Championship.

Jordan Meegan scored four of Inniskeen's points.
