Feeney back at Windsor
Lee Feeney returns to Windsor Park after four years in Scotland
Feeney returns from Rangers after four years
Lee Feeney is back with Linfield after nearly four years with Glasgow Rangers.

Blues boss David Jeffrey won the race to sign the former Northern Ireland under-21 midfielder.

The Kilkeel-born Feeney made his Linfield debut back in February 1997 before moving to Rangers for 100,000 at the end of 1998.

He had an audicious start to his career at Ibrox and made a number of appearances in the Scottish Premiership.

However, his star faded slightly, and for the most part was part of the under-21 set-up at Rangers as well as playing in the Reserve side.

Good friends

It is believed that Feeney was a target for other clubs, including new Irish League champions Portadown, but Jeffrey's persuasive powers see him back at the Irish Cup winners.

And the former Ger revealed it was watching the recent Irish Cup Final against Portadown that convinced him to re-sign for the Blues.

"I was at the Irish Cup Final and the Linfield fans really are unbelievable," he said.

"My younger brother won a league medal with Portadown last season and hopefully next year I'll win one as well.

"I have still got a lot of good friends at the club who I have kept in touch with for the last few years and I am looking forward to joining up with them again in pre-season."
