Antrim win semi in New York
Dinny Cahill feels the standard of hurling in Antrim is high
Cahill's side can now look forward to the final
New York 2-11 Antrim 5-19

Antrim reached the final of the Guinness Ulster Senior Hurling Championship on Sunday with a good win over New York.

Dinny Cahill's men ran out convincing winners in the end but were made to work hard for the semi-final victory at the Gaelic Park venue in New York.

They will play either Down or Derry in the final, after those two sides fought out a 0-12 1-9 draw in their semi-final on Saturday at Casement Park.

The hosts put up a strong fight but Antrim's finer hurling skills and higher fitness levels helped them to victory.

Defence

And it was in attack where the visitors were superior.

Their right corner forward Aidan Delargy was the star player on the field.

He scored 2-8 of Antrim's total while his right wing partner Liam Watson notched up 3-2.

Cahill will also be pleased with his defence, which done all it had to do and goalkeeper Damien Quinn brought off one brilliant save from Bobby Ryan in the dying seconds.
