Bangor in Doherty U-turn
Lee Doherty is to continue as manager of Bangor
Irish League First Division club Bangor are set to offer Lee Doherty a new contract. The move represents a remarkable turnaround as the Seasiders' chairman Jim McGrory had announced last week that Doherty would not be offered new terms. However, it later emerged that the decision to dispense with Doherty's services had not been fully backed by the Bangor board. As the row developed, chairman Jim McGrory resigned. Now the remaining board members have offered Doherty a new deal. "I had a meeting with the board on Tuesday night," said Doherty. "We had a long discussion about a budget next season. "I have been offered a new contract and I want to move on with the club and be successful. "I would love to bring success to Bangor. The supporters and the members of the board, who work so hard, deserve it."
