Ballinderry finally triumph
County star Enda Muldoon was Ballinderry's inspiration
Ballinderry 0-8 St Gall's 0-6
Ballinderry defeated St Gall's in the Ulster Club Football quarter-final replay at Maghera on Sunday. However, the Derry side were made to fight very hard before edging into the semi-finals. Goals were in short supply and few players managed to get their names on the scoresheet. Conleth Gilligan (twice) and Gerard Cassidy put Ballinderry three points up as they tried to get control of the game. But Sean Burns managed a couple of points to hold the favourites in check. St Gall's had managed to hold Ballinderry 1-8 to 2-5 in the first game. Pressure However, three points before the break by the same players enabled Ballinderry to take a 0-6 to 0-2 half-time lead. Still St Gall's refused to be buried as Kieran McGrouty and Sean Burns sandwiched points between another Cassidy effort. Pressure was beginning to tell in the final minutes with McGrouty and Burns popping over points as St Gall's drew to within one point. However, Ballinderry finished the stronger with Gilligan getting the last of his four points to see his side home. Results
