North Down crowned champions
North Down clinched the NCU Ulster Bank Section One title by beating Waringstown by 63 runs on Friday.

The Comber side were too strong for last season's champions who were well understrength.

Set a target of 203, Waringstown could only manage 140-7.

Skipper Paul Shields was top scorer for North Down with 88 and, along Andrew White, put on 126 for North Down's firsrt wicket.

It was North Down's first double for 65 years.
