Canavan out of Rules series

Peter Canavan and Jason Akermanis were both sent off
Tyrone star Peter Canavan has declared himself unavailable for next month's International Rules tour in Australia.

Canavan took the decision because he has a one-match suspension hanging over him from last year's series.

The Tyrone man was sent-off in the second Test between Ireland and Australia in Dublin last October.

He was dismissed for fighting with Australia's Jason Akermanis who received a two-match ban.

Glenn Ryan is also unavailable for the Irish squad because of injury.
