O'Meara out of decider
Tipperary's Brian O'Meara
Brian O'Meara was sent off against Wexford
Tipperary's Brian O'Meara has been ruled out of next month's All-Ireland Hurling Final against Galway.

The GAA's Games Administration Committee have handed O'Meara a four-week suspension following his sending-off in the All-Ireland Semi-Final replay win over Wexford.

O'Meara travelled to Monday's meeting in the hope that the GAC would show leniency.

He was dismissed along with Wexford's Liam Dunne during their semi-final clash after a linesman spotted an off-the-ball incident.

Referee Pat Horan's decision to send the players off was heavily criticised by both the Wexford and Tipperary camps.

The four-week suspension rules O'Meara out of action until 16 September, a week after the All-Ireland Final.

Carr banned

If the match is drawn, O'Meara will be able to play in the replay.

Wexford's Liam Dunne received a four-week ban while Mitch Jordan, who was also sent off during the semi-final, was handed a 12-week suspension.

Dublin football manager Tommy Carr, meanwhile, has been handed a six-month touchline ban as punishment for his outburst against referee Mick Curley during the All-Ireland Quarter-Final against Kerry.

Carr furiously ran on to the field to remonstrate with Curley during the drawn quarter-final against the Kingdom.

Some will see the six-month ban as a slap on the wrist for Carr as the National League does not start until next February - when his suspension ends.

Carr is expected to remain on as Dublin manager for next season.
